Bloggers spread all over the world. According to the
research did in the annual report of State of the Blogosphere (2011), bloggers
from 45 countries responded to their research and there are 50% of them from
United States, approximately 31 million bloggers as of July 2012 (Johnson,
2012).
Now, the trend of blogging has changed. Blogging is
not only sharing personal life and thoughts, but also become a platform for
business. Johnson (2012) has listed out The Wall Street Journal, New York
Times, Mozilla Firefox and some corporations who used blogs to earn millions.
According to his research, 60% businesses have blogs and 35% update monthly.
This shows the power of blogs in money-making.
I personally blogs and I do visits others blog. From
my observation, I found that prevalent blogs have mutual factors to be famous,
which is to satisfy their audience needs and attractive blog layouts and design
with direct and clear writing style.
For the benefits of blogging, I agree with Bullas
(2012) that writing and researching skills will improve as bloggers hope to
attract more readers so the accuracy of information is vital. For business
corporations, Haque (2011) stated that blogging created relationships and
interaction with their consumers and increased potential customers. Apart from
this, blogging is also a low-cost marketing as most of the blogs are free. Psychologically,
Schaefer (2012) suggested that blogging heals both people’ mind and body by
writing out their agony and connects with people while facing difficult times.
